Patricia's Owl

July 2014, and my third attempt at whittling. Did something a little different this time (clearly).

Little owl; the head and base are whittled from pressure treated pine (salvaged decking again), but the body is a piece of rutilated quartz. Pretty happy with this one. It could be better, but it does look a little nicer in person than it does in the photos.

The entire piece is just 5.5 cm tall; the head itself is only 1.5 cm high and 1.75 cm in diameter. Alternated between a 4" pocket knife and a 1.5" pocket knife for most of the whittling, and adhered the wood & stone with LePage professional speed-set epoxy.
